Hello again everyone,
Just a very short note to let you know I plan on changing the name of the website in April, when the payment plan next comes due. I have kept with Downriver Things as the site name since the beginning in 2013, but now believe it's time for an upgrade. The actual proper name of the site, Downriver History & Facts, began use in 2018.
The new name for the site will be downriverhistory.org, which I believe better supports the platform. Not only is the name more professional and states exactly who we are, the new suffix points to our role as a non-profit entitity which many of our historical societies share. (Remember that brief moment when we used to have those Google pop-up banners at the top of each page? I almost forgot. Never made much money on it, by the way...)
I was actually going to change it today, but I decided instead to go with the payment plan as it is, while changing the name then. Look for the familiar re-direct page on your browsers at about that time.
Cordially moving forward,
KEVIN HARRISON, webmaster
